NEEDLE 2 Comments ashe on November 8, 2007 at 2:52 am actually, the best line is that the best medicine is the one taken for granted. vaccines get all the credit, but if you look at the graphs, you can see that those infectious diseases were already sharply on the decline before the vaccines were introduced. there has never been a serious study, for instance, looking into the role of increased public sanitation in the decline of infectious disease. Those diseases are making a comeback in SoFlo because of immigrants who are unimmunized entering the population. Nice to hear about Leprosy making having a comeback tour.
